The Twilight Zone!!

Gallery1988 in LA will be hosting a show of Twilight Zone inspired pieces from a host of peeps, including myself (my piece above based on the "5 Characters In Search of an Exit") and fellow friendorfoer Kiersten Essenpreis. Let me tell you, going back and watching all the classic Twilight Zone episodes probably took more time than the actual paintings, but man, it is fun. What an amazing show.

Mini-illos!

Little piece about the Icelandic volcano and the air traffic re-routing.
There was a fire at Little Louis'! Not that I went there much, but combined with the building collapse last summer, Myrtle Ave Brooklyn seems like a dangerous place for buildings.

Incarnation by Mark Ryden

It's fun to see Mark Ryden at the easel but why do all time lapse videos have to have melancholy piano soundtracks?

New illos

Here are some new illustrations that came out recently:

Jean Renoir's "Toni," The New Yorker, April 12, 2010
"Toni" (1935) will be the first film in a five week retrospective of Jean Renoir's work. Check out some of my unused sketches here.

"On the Town: Boston," Go Magazine, April 2010
One of spots I did for Go Magazine! I did them awhile ago and had to resist posting until the issue came out. You can check out the rest of the spots here.
