i'm finally buckling down and having a go at this digital thing everyone seems to be reveling in these days. keep in mind that these are still VERY early attempts. this being so, i need all the feedback i can get. tips, criticism, ideas, send it all my way!

frank black is a dreamboat.
fat & bald. just the way i like em!
I only started doing digital work because I was sick of painting...
These are good, but I miss the texture, the delicate line qualities, and the "collage" feel of your paintings that shouted "ILANA KOHN" from a mile away. Can you incorporate that stuff into digital work?
f.
yeah, i guess i'm a bit backwards here cause what i really WANT to be doing in fact is the painting....figured it couldn't hurt to add digital to the arsenal though.
still have a lot to work out here but you're right, it needs more texture, more interest! these still feel pretty rudimentary to me.
so i'm just gonna keep plugging away at these! between paintings of course...
I agree with Frank. Don't lose "ILANA KOHN" (who you are as an artist) just because you're working on the computer. If you'd rather be painting- just paint and (if necessary) use the computer as a tool to enhance your paintings. "Digital" is a medium, not a style.
you're both right.....maybe i just need to set the digital aside for a bit. cause honostly, i'd rather be painting!
maybe you could paint directly onto discarded old computer monitors???
