Howdy,
I did this last week for Esquire about the documentary "Surfwise." Look it up, seems interesting!
Also, here is a picture of my workspace... Josh Cochran described it as "like a submarine!" which is the coolest way anyone could ever have described it. That's my bed on top. And I just heard back from CA and AI-- I got two pieces into the next American Illustration Annual and one into Communication Arts. My first time in Comm. Arts after like 3 years of goose egg.

frank, damn! i was in the middle of leaving you a comment on your vector piece and then lo and behold it was gone! poof! well i actually felt like i had something productive to say so i'll just say it here. you'll know what i'm talking about.
as i was saying, your hand drawn linework is already so clean, i don't really see there being enough of a contrast btwn the hand drawn & vector to make the vector really worth it. besides, the hand drawn quality is such a subtle thing in your work, be careful not to lose it or become to slick! take that with a grain of salt for whatever it's worth.
