Eric White's been a favorite since I was in school. He's a nice guy, great painter, fits admirably in the back of a cab for a man his size, and if you haven's seen his new collection of reworked album covers, you're really missing out. In these record size paintings (12x12) he lets some really beautiful impasto and brushwork in contrasting with the spot on rendering and slavishly redone and very witty type.

but yeah, nice stuff too.
As well as the "people you might have left behind only to find they are down in the footwell" category, a perennial crowd favorite.
